Research projects

Physiological state modulates host-plant attraction behavior and olfactory gene expression in female of the Egyptian cotton leaf worm, Spodoptera littoralis (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)
S. littoralis female behavior towards the plants is different according to the sex and mating status. This behavior change can be due to the regulation of olfactory genes or neuromodulators (amines). My project is to look at gene expression level and if there is affected by the neuromodulators.
