Docent med huvudintresse inom produktionsrelaterade sjukdomar hos nötkreatur, samt utveckling av kombinerade kliniska, medicinska och vetenskapliga kompetenser i veterinäryrket.

Presentation

Jag är veterinär och forskare med inriktning idisslares infektiösa sjukdomar och immunitet. I mitt arbete ingår klinisk och teoretisk undervisning, ffa rörande digestionssjukdomar hos nötkreatur.  Jag arbetar även på Idisslarkliniken och har uppdrag som kursledare för Produktionsdjur inklusive livsmedelssäkerhet Åk 5, samt som delkursledare för Idisslarmedicin inom Klinisk veterinärmedicin Åk 4-5.

Min forskning fokuserar på inflammation och virusorsakade sjukdomar. Jag arbetar i nötkreatursbesättningar samt på laboratorie, med kartläggning av virus epidemiologi och smittspridning, immunologi, sjukdomsmekanismer, persistens samt utveckling och utvärdering av vacciner och laboratorietester. Det övergripande målet är att utveckla effektiva kontrollmetoder, såsom vacciner, nya behandlingsmetoder och smittskydd baserat på evidens.

I forskarrollen ingår även handledning av forskarstuderande samt projektledning.  Aktuella projekt handlar om bakteriell och viral lunginflammation, bovint respiratoriskt syncytialt virus, influenzavirus typ D och mul-och-klövsjukevirus.
