New Name: Department of Agrosystems at SLU Alnarp
Department of Agriculture, Farming Systems, Technology and Product Quality at the LTJ Faculty in SLU Alnarp changes its name to Department of Agrosystems from June 1, 2011.
The department mission of is to produce knowledge on development, management and assessment of sustainable cropping systems producing healthy and high quality food, feed, feedstock for bioenergy carriers and industrial raw materials. Research is undertaken in organic, integrated and conventional systems.
The knowledge is utilized via dissemination, teaching, innovation and collaboration with the relevant sectors. The focus is on research at the cropping systems level, end-use quality of crop products and on operationalization of sustainable development in teaching and research.
The department has two themes: 1) Cropping systems, Integrated Weed Management and Natural Resource use, and 2) End-use Quality and Biorefinery.
