SLU Among the 400 Highest Ranked Universities in the World

Every year the Jiao Tong University in Shanghai conducts a ranking of universities worldwide. The Shanghai ranking is one of the world’s most prestigious rankings of institutions of higher education. A total of over 1 000 universities are reviewed, and only the 500 foremost are included in the list.

At the top of the list, as earlier years, are Harvard, Stanford, MIT and Berkeley and four other American universities. In Europe, Cambridge and Oxford are found among the top ten.

SLU’s position on the list is fairly stable, this year among the 300-400 best universities, or among the 200-300 best.

Some of the criteria to decide the position on the list are the number of Nobel prize winners and the number of published and cited scientific articles.
