Minister and former student visited SLU

On October 30 the minister for Human Settlements, Housing and Urban Affairs in Tanzania, Professor Anna Tibaijuka, visited her old university SLU.
Anna Tibaijuka earned a doctors degree at SLU in the 1980´s. Today she is a minister of the government of Tanzania. During her visit at SLU she met with, among other representatives for SLU, the vice chancellor Lisa Sennerby Forsse, and the Assistant Vice-Chancellor Johan Schnürer, who presentation of Global Challenges University Alliance. Professor Lennart Salomonsson, Department of Urban and Rural development, presented Agricultural Sciences for Global Development, SLU Global. Anna Tibaijuka was very pleased to visit her old university, and is interested in collaborating with SLU.
Last week Anna Tibaijuka visited Stockholm and a seminar in the Riksdag about women’s education, where she met with the Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation, Gunilla Carlsson. Anna Tibaijuka is one of the founders of “Joha Trust”, (a trust for girls´ education in Tanzania, in order to honor Barbro Johansson, teacher and missionary in Tanzania.)
