Environment, health and life quality

Biological resources are of great importance to society in many ways. Our very existence is dependent on
ecosystem functions and the state of the environment. Nature and animals affect human health and wellbeing, directly and indirectly.

Environment, health and life quality - one priority area

SLU is concentrating on five sub-areas within the field Environment, health and life quality in its Strategy 2013-2016.

  1. Ecosystems, environment and climate
  2. Urban environments and landscape architecture
  3. Animal health and animal welfare
  4. Collaboration between veterinary medicine and human medicine
  5. The significance of animals and nature for human health and wellbeing
