Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness
Priority Programs: Agricultural economics, Agribusiness and Environmental Economics.
Stakeholders: NUR, High Learning Institutions, Central Government institutions (MINAGRI, MINECOFIN, MINIRENA, MINICOM, MINEAC), and financial institutions.
Potential students: Currently, the department will have to start with an MSc programme in order to find enough candidates for the PhD programme.
Needs for curriculum development: The curriculum for MSc will be developed first which can subsequently inspire the PhD curriculum development. The department will set-up an ad hoc team for curriculum development and will request from its partners external specialized consultants to develop the curriculum.
Available capacity: 2 PhD holders in agricultural economics and 1 in PhD training; NUR infrastructure & facilities.
Infrastructure & facilities required: Computer labs, classrooms, office spaces, library (virtual & physical), logistic and teaching material, e.g. data projectors, such softwares, etc.
Areas of Research: Land Markets, Market of Agricultural Products, Institutions and Behavior Economics, Economics of Climate Change, Value Chain Managements, Program Evaluation and Project Management, and Environmental Economics.
