Sustainable forestry and forest restoration, including governance issues
Underlying the REDD+ concept is that forests should continue to provide goods and services to people while specifically emphasizing the role of forests for maintaining and enhancing carbon stocks. Sustainable management practices in REDD+ countries, including forest restoration and the role of institutions etc., thus are core concerns for implementing REDD+. This is also pointed out as a, so-called, safe-guard within the REDD+ agreements.
