Environment and natural resources:

Man affects nature

The use of the natural resources soil and forest brings both advantages and disadvantages for the environment. The research at SLU in the areas of environment and conservation include nutrient cycles, and the loss of nutrients into water, as well as the effects of cultivation and forestry on soil micro-organisms and biodiversity. Grazing animals helping to keep the landscape open is another example.
