AgResource
– Resource allocation processes in agriculture

Welcome to AgResource - Resource Allocation Processes in Agriculture

Increased efficiency in the resource utilisation by agricultural crops is a highly prioritized area in agricultural research. Systems with perennial crops have the potential to be more resource effective than annual crops.

The project AgResource - Resource Allocation in Agriculture is a strategical approach by the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences. The the goal is to study perennial and annual crops from different perspectives. From the molecular perspective we will study the genetic background to the use of perennial crops, resource allocation and resource effeciency. From the plant and whole stand perspective we will investigate how the  phenotype of perennial and annual crops will affect resource uptake, resource allocation and resource efficiency, and from the field and landscape perspective we will investigate the interactions between  the stand and the landscape, and how this will affect utilization of resources, sustainability, environment and the possibilities to use eco system assessments.
