Future Animal Health and Welfare - a unifying force
Animal health and animal welfare are two key areas at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and our scientists study both healthy and diseased animals' needs, behaviour and bodily functions.
In the programme Future Animal Health and Welfare, SLU actively gathers and strengthens research in this area, thereby support the society's sustainable relations to animals. The programme lifts issues in the field of animal health and welfare in a wide temporal perspective, and serves as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration. The programme's vision is:
Good health and welfare for animals and humans
The activities of the programme include coordination of international contacts, major research applications and research projects, as well as organising interdisciplinary seminars. The programme has a particular responsibility for the species cat, dog and horse.
