Nordic-Baltic seminar on heritage interpretation - 14 June, Uppsala

SCNI, together with The Nordic Cooperation Group for Nature Interpretation and The IRF Nordic-Baltic Forum for Nature Interpretation, invites to a full day seminar. Focus on the seminar is to discuss heritage interpretation in an international context.

International conference on heritage interpretation - 15-18 June, Sigtuna

SCNI together with Interpret Europe and National Association for Interpretation invites to a conference with participants from all the world. The theme is: Sharing our natural and cultural heritage - interpretation can make us citizen of the world.

The Swedish Centre for Nature Interpretation:

- was established in 2007 by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences with the aim of serving as a meeting place, a centre for development and a competence resource for all nature interpreters in Sweden.

Nature interpretation can be defined as communicating knowledge and evoking feelings relating to nature and the cultural landscape. Nature interpreters are active at places such as government authorities, visitor centres, companies, museums and non-profit organisations

Professor Sam Ham is guest reasearcher at SCNI

During the period 2012-2014 professor Sam Ham from USA is spending one month per semester at SLU in order to develop research about nature interpretation in Sweden. Sam Ham is professor emeritus in communication psykology. His work at SLU is financed by the August T Larsson guest researcher program.
