Eva Sandberg
About Eva:
Eva is the director of the Swedish Centre for Nature Interpretation. She is also a member of the steering board for the Department of Urban and Rural Development, SLU. Her main interest is how nature interpretation can contribute to sustainable development and strengthen people’s intellectual and emotional understanding of nature and the cultural landscape. She is also interested in how nature interpretation can create values, both for individuals and for society, within fields such as nature conservation, outdoor recreation, rural development, business enterprise and health.
Eva acts as a lecturer and course administrator at SCNI’s academic course for active nature interpreters (3 credits). The course is a cooperation between SCNI and the Unit for Environmental Communication.
Academic merites
Bachelor’s degree in Biology Earth Sciences, courses in research information and professional writing, Swedish glaciology and urban ecology; Stockholm University.
Employment Record/ Experience:
Eva is currently working at the SCNI. She previously worked at the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation as a project manager, where her work involved educating and coordinating nature guides and providing public nature guide programmes, websites, books and development projects in and about nature experiences and natural surroundings in Stockholm county. She has also worked part-time at the County Administration Board of Stockholm, on visitor surveys and producing interpretive nature guides to protected nature, and at Skansen Open Air Museum, managing environmental
