Bo Algers

My name is Bo Algers. I am a veterinarian and since 2015 professor emeritus in Animal Hygiene at the the Department of Animal Environment and Health.

In my research, which I conduct together with my PhD students as well as other research colleagues, I nowadays engage most in questions such as risk assessment for animal welfare, maternal behaviour in sows, sustainable food production systems (synthesis research), ethics in animal husbandry, transport and handling of animals at slaughter. Now and then I engage in the animal welfare debate.
