Kajsa Henryson

Postdoctoral researcher in life cycle assessment (LCA) of agricultual processes and systems.

Presentation

My research is about the environmental impact of agricultural systems, especially focusing on carbon and nitrogen cycling in the soil. My main tool to assess environmental impact is life cycle assessment (LCA). LCA is used to assess the environmental impact of a process or a product throughout its life cycle, from “cradle” to “grave”. LCA is useful to compare different types of environmental burdens caused by different phases of the process or product life cycle.

My work includes both methodology development of the LCA tool, with regards to agricultural systems, and application of the LCA tool on systems like crop cultivation, animal production and biofuels.
