Environmental monitoring and assessment

My work mainly concerns environmental monitoring, where I work with variable content, sampling design and data for landscape analyses. The purpose is to describe the state and changes of biotopes, including effects om human impact and other environmental factors on vegetation and natural values, based on a combination of aerial photo interpretation and field data collection. A major part of our work is monitoring of grasslands, wetlands and farmland landscape features in collaboration with a group of county administrative boards within Regional Landscape Monitoring. Our projects are mainly linked to SLU’s environmental programme Agricultural Landscape and focus on results for evaluation of the Swedish Environmental Quality Objectives.

Collaborators: Merit Kindström and Assar Lundin

Research interests

My research interests concern vascular plants in the agricultural landscape, especially the impact of grazing and site conditions on plant performance, plant competition and species diversity.
