Natural Resource Economics
Prerequisites:
Equivalent of three semesters of undergraduate studies in economics.
Objectives:
After completion of the course the student should:
- Have a comprehensive view of the key issues in natural resource utilization
-Understand the economic principles of natural resource utilization
-Be able to apply the tools of economic analysis to examine typical natural resource management problems.
Content:
- Natural resource scarcity and sustainable development
- Economic concepts for examining natural resource utilization
- Static and dynamic models for renewable resource management
- Regulations of renewable resource use
- Depletion of non-renewable resources
- Economics of sustainable development
Examination:
Written exam and assignment
