The programme is aimed at students with a BSc degree in forestry or related sciences, who are interested in international aspects of forest and nature resource management. A variety of scholarships are available for potential students.

It is a two-year programme run jointly by the universities of Joensuu (Finland), Freiburg (Germany), Wageningen (Netherlands), Lleida (Spain), BOKU (Austria), AgroParisTech-ENGREF (France) and SLU (Sweden).

The programme is conducted in English and attracts students from all over the world. The first year (60 HEC) consists of a common component for all students on the programme. It is comprised of courses on development and various aspects of forestry in Europe. You will complete a three-month internship at a forest organisation and a European field course.

In the second year, you can specialise by choosing elective courses (30 HEC) and writing your MSc thesis (30 HEC). The programme will take you to at least two of the participating universities and you will receive a double degree based on your individual study plan for the second year. Students develop their study plan in consultation with their supervisors to ensure they meet the national requirements for the degrees offered by the participating universities.
