Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC)
If you will be attending SLU as an exchange students as part of the Erasmus programme, you have the opportunity to take part in EILC.
EILC is a Swedish language course that will also introduce you to Swedish history and culture. By taking part in the course, you will have the possibility to meet fellow Erasmus exchange students. EILC is free of charge and you will get an extra scholarship from your home university for participating.
There are several institutions in Sweden that offer students Erasmus Intensive Language Courses. It is not obligatory for students to study EILC at the same institution they will undertake their exchange period. However, it is important for students to note that the entire EILC programme is compulsory, and they must therefore be prepared to miss one or more days of their orientation programme at SLU.
For the application deadline, students should check with the international office at their university. The application deadline for the summer courses is usually during the month of May. For winter courses, the application deadline is usually during the month of October.'
As the EILC programme is given outside of the regular university semester, students should contact their exchange coordinator at SLU to discuss their accommodation options during this period.
If you have any questions about how to apply, contact the international office at your home university.
For information on when and where EILC courses will be given, please look at the European Community site for Education and Training.
