Swedish Language Requirements
To take a course in Swedish at SLU, students must be competent in the Swedish language. Specifically, students must have the equivalent qualification of Swedish studies at upper secondary school in Sweden, known as Swedish Course B.
There are several ways of showing that you have this qualification, for example:
- Pass a test in Swedish for University and Colleges (TISUS) and send the results to SLU together with your application. For more information, visit TISUS.
- Have completed secondary school in Danish, Norwegian or Icelandic. Send a verified copy of your grades to SLU together with your application.
- Have completed secondary school in Finnish*. Send a verified copy of your grades to SLU together with your application.
* If you have completed secondary school in Finnish but have not taked the Matriculation Examination in Swedish, you must have taken Swedish as a subject for at least three years (or five courses), to have an equivalent qualification to Swedish Course B.
