There are general as well as specific admission requirements for SLU's Master's programmes. The general requirements are the same for all programmes, while the specific requirements are unique for each programme.
SLU requires that students have a completed Bachelor’s degree, equivalent to a Swedish Bachelor’s degree (180 HEC), from a university recognised by the Swedish government and/or accredited by other recognised organisations according to The International Association of Universities (www.unesco.org/iau/onlinedatabases/list.html).
Students in their final year of undergraduate education in EU/EES countries may also, if the student meets the general admission requirements, receive a conditional acceptance. However, in most instances, specific requirements for the programme must be fulfilled by the student at the time of application.
For details on specific admission requirements, please study the information available at www.slu.se for each programme.
SLU requires good knowledge of written and spoken English or Swedish. Programmes with English as the language of instruction require English equivalent to course B from Swedish upper secondary school. If you have not graduated from Swedish secondary school the applicants must provide proof of their proficiency in English through an internationally recognised test, such as TOEFL or IELTS.
Required results are:
- TOEFL internetbased score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test and a total score of 90.
- TOEFL paperbased score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575.
- IELTS an overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5
Use TOEFL institution code 3477. More information can be found on www.toefl.org and www.ielts.org. There are exemptions from providing an English test, please see www.universityadmissions.se for further information.
