Tell us about your time at SLU
I went on exchange together with my boyfriend. We chose to study in Sweden because my boyfriend's mother comes from Helsinki and speaks Swedish. I learnt to speak Swedish while on exchange and I can still speak some Swedish today. I learnt just as much outside of the classroom as I did inside. We were very social and met lots of wonderful friends from all over the world who we still keep in touch with today. Being on exchange was a great way to learn about Sweden, the culture and the people.
What was the best thing about studying at SLU?
We were all so excited by the quality of the courses.
What was the most memorable part of being on exchange?
I remember when we arrived in Sweden without having organised any accommodation. We turned up at SLU with our bags and our exchange coordinator helped us to find a student apartment. I also remember eight exchange students who got matching tattoos of snowflakes to symbolise their time at SLU.
