Courses

SLU offers a wide variety of programmes and courses designed to develop our understanding of biological natural resources.  SLU’s courses focus on many things that people take for granted, for example, the food we eat, the animals we farm or keep as pets, or the plants we cultivate.  The education, skills and experience gained from these courses are essential to sustainability, teaching us to utilise out forests, water, soil and animals in a sustainable way.

Important:

The Swedish University Credit System awards 1.5 credits for each completed week of full-time study.  This system is compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

1 Swedish credit = 1 ECTS credit.

The Swedish academic year is divided into two semesters.  One semester of full-time study (100%) is equal to 30 credits.  Each semester is divided into two periods, worth 15 credits each.  These periods are divided into two blocks, Block A and Block B.  Not all courses can be studied full-time, and some courses may run for more than one period.  Most courses at SLU are worth between 5 – 15 credits.

Please note, if you are taking two part-time courses in the same period, you should try and choose courses that add up to 100% study.

More specific information can be found on each course’s webpage.   To find the webpage for your course, use the Course Search Function.  Fill in the course name or number, or alternatively, search for the name of the programme to find your course.
