Hej Hej everybody! First, a little about myself: I love Sweden! This is my second year at SLU. I did an exchange from Canada during my bachelors degree, and liked it so much that I have started my masters here. I study forestry and I really like the hands on approach of SLU. But this blog won't only be about school, or Sweden, or getting ''set up'' in a new country. I'm sure I will have useful information on all of those topics, but my first priority is writing something that will be interesting to read.

Call me Ram, call me Remi or by my old East Indian name- Ramnath. Travelling, my camera and meeting people is what I love to indulge in and am good at. Articulating my thoughts and observations and interpreting them is what I have to offer when it comes to writing blogs. In Uppsala, I see a unique lifestyle, culture and student living. Anything and everything is worth reading about Uppsala as I have a lot to offer and learn.

You should read my blog if you want to know how many bicycles not to buy in your first month, what to wear in this unforgiving climate, where to get bread for a decent price, the cool/not so cool places to hang out, how to get a permit to work, how to live on a student budget (no, actually, not that one, that's impossible). Plus, don't hesitate to ask me questions or more; I'll do my utmost to give the right answer or the closest thing to it...Enjoy!

I’m Chris Turner, 20 years old, from Nottingham, England (Robin Hood country!) and I’m currently studying biotechnology at SLU. Back at home, I study biochemistry at Leeds university. One of the reasons that I decided to come to Sweden was because I’m terrified of the idea of growing up and by joining an exchange program, I’m gonna get to be a student for one year longer than I’d originally intended! Of course there were other reasons; like the desire to experience a new culture and I’ve rarely heard a bad thing about Sweden!

Deciding to study and live in another country is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was going to stay for only one semester, but I decided to stay for a second semester because I love being here and want to continue to experience new things. I have met so many great people from all over the world and have made a lot of friends in a short period of time. I hope the second semester will be as great as the first semester if not better.

Hey! We will be living in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia and the plan is to write our Bachelor's exam of Animal Science. The project aims to study how animals are transported and treated before slaughter. We will also read some extra courses at the Addis Ababa University that will involve small projects linked to the exam.
