Programmes

The university has chosen to organise its environmental monitoring and assessment into programmes which relate to the Swedish environmental objectives. Read more on the individual programmes through the navigation bar to the left.

Since July 2011 there is also a new Department of Aquatic Resources at SLU which is focused on monitoring and assessment of the state of aquatic ecosystems and assessing the impact of resource uses on aquatic ecosystems.

A unique mission

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has a mission that is unique among Sweden’s universities and colleges. SLU has been commissioned by the Swedish Government to pursue environmental monitoring and assessment. The results are used for the follow-up of Sweden’s environmental objectives and adherence to its commitments within international conventions and directives in the environmental arena.
