Intelligent fishing a part of the solution
The Coastal and sea areas programme gathers SLU's expertise on marine environments and their assessment. The programme has a strong international dimension and includes more than sixty projects and activities. Our work is based on cooperation with authorities and bodies responsible for water management in coastal and sea areas.
The Coastal and sea areas programme aims to provide:
- trend and status assessments for the Baltic Sea and the Kattegatt-Skagerrak
- scientific support for the achievement of Sweden's national environmental objectives, particularly A Balanced Marine Environment, Flourishing Coastal Areas and Archipelagos, as well as Sweden's international environmental commitments.
- a basis for advice to fisheries management and marine environment management
