How has Sweden succeeded in involving people in nature conservation and species protection? What are the experiences of using the concept of ecosystem services in Swedish planning and decision making? These are two of the subjects which will be presented by scientists from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) during the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawaii 1–10 September.

More than 9,000 participants from 190 countries take part in the IUCN Congress, with best wishes from President Barack Obama, visiting Hawaii.

Two of the presentations by SLU are parts of a session led by the Swedish Ministry of Environment and Energy, where also the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Swedish museum of Natural history and Laponiatjuottjudus (Sámi for Laponia Administration) contribute (link to session below).
