Visit from University of Rwanda

A delegation from the University of Rwanda visited SLU on their first day of their weeklong visit to Sweden for discussions on the next phase of the joint multidisciplinary collaboration programme within Sida´s Research Training Partnership Programme.

The delegation from the University of Rwanda (UR) was headed by Ambassador Dr. Charles Murigande, Deputy Vice Chancellor –Institutional Advancement University of Rwanda and Dr. Laetitia Nyinawamwiza, Principal of the College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM). Several representatives from other Swedish universities involved in the UR-Sweden also took part in the meeting. The purpose of the visit to Sweden is, among others, to meet representatives from existing and potential new partners who are intereseted to collaborate and contribute to building the research capacity with the UR. The concept note for the next phase of the programme will also be discussed.

At SLU the group met with SLU's Pro Vice-Chancellor Kevin Bishop, the researchers Abraham Joel and Helena Bylund as well as with the Deputy Director at SLU Global Dr. Carolyn Glynn.
