Research

We produce research within these major fields

  • Work science/leadership
  • Economy/business economics
  • Environmental psychology/landscape

Work science deals with safe, healthy and stimulating working environments and good leadership, particularly within the agricultural sector. This is achieved through close cooperation with involved stakeholders.

Business economics includes economic issues relevant to the main profile of the faculty, focusing on marketing, competition, business management and consumer behaviour, particularly concerning food and health.

Environmental psychology, as mansifested within the department, concerns interactions between people and the physical, outdoor environment, particularly the role of the landscape for health and quality of life.

Teaching

We are involved in education at all levels, including short courses as well as entire education programmes:

  • Courses within the following programmes: landscape engineer, agricultural and rural management, horticultural management, horticultural science, equine science, landscape architect, agriculture programme, agroecology and sustainable urban management.
  • Two programmes are given entirely within the department: The one-year master's programme Nature, Health & Garden, and the Study programme in Business and Leadership.
  • Several courses for specific purposes, e.g. in work science, garden therapy, health design etc.

Alnarp Rehabilitation Garden

The Alnarps Rehabilitation Garden, which is part of the department, has drawn much attention as it combines therapeutic activities in a restful, green environment with research and teaching. Further information (in Swedish)
