Climate chamber in the Biotron
Different chambers with different conditions
There are 35 climate chambers in the Biotron, 23 wtih artificial light and 12 with daylight. All chambers are individual controlled concerning temperature, relative humidity and light. The climate is controlled by using circulating air. The light level in the chambers with artificial light is controlled with five groups of lamps with different light intenisty. The light levels in the daylight chambers is depending on outdoor conditions. It is possible to use supplementary light in the daylight chambers.
Data for the two types of chambers:

30 - 90 % |
*) In some chambers it is possible to decrease the temperature down to -5o C. But at this low temperature it is not possible to control the relative humidity.
The size of a artificial light chamber is 2.60 x 3.25 m2 with a useful hight of 2.10 m. The daylight chamber is larger, 3.00 x 4.00 m2 but with the same hight of 2.10 m.
