Multiple Challenges in Tropical Fruit growingTropical solanaceous fruits are challenged with serious fungal pathogens and an insect herbivore. The aim of this project is to identify the plant volatile compounds that attract egg-laying females of the major insect pest of solanaceous plants. In addition, interactions between induced plant defenses against the pathogen and insect herbivore host localization will be studied.
