“Utilization of local protein feeds in milk production” is the title of my Ph D project and I find it to be a very current topic. With a growing dairy production globally and a decrease in number of dairy farms in Sweden there is an exciting future ahead of us to keep developing towards a dairy industry with less negative impact on the environment and even more efficient milk production.
The objective of my PhD project is to optimize the use of locally produced protein supplements in organic and conventional milk production systems. The studies include production trials in dairy cows, in vitro and in situ studies and evaluation of feed protein models.
