Welcome to the Department of Aquatic Resources!

The research and development of the department is focused on monitoring and assessment of the state of aquatic ecosystems and assessing the impact of resource uses on aquatic ecosystems. The research comprises stock assessment of fish and shellfish, ecosystem analyses and interactions, spatial and temporal analyses, effects of anthropogenic impact on fish, fisheries and ecosystems, fisheries management and practices, aquaculture and its effects.
The department consists of Institute of Marine Research in Lysekil, Institute of Coastal Research in Öregrund, Institute of Freshwater Research in Drottningholm, and the Fisheries research station in Älvkarleby.
