The activities that the Department organise outside normal course activities we call Extra Curriculum. The idea is that our students should be given an opportunity to gain insight in areas connected to the research of the Department, but that is not directly dealt with in courses. We also want to inspire the students regarding to see more possibilities on the work market.
Work market evenings
Every spring professor Hans Andersson organises a work market evening. Alumni are invited to talk about their work and how they ended up their. The program is usually about 3-4 hours and a break for a snack is included. The program has so far only been in Swedish.
Brown Bag Seminas
In this serie of seminars we invite external speakers or a colleague to present a current topic. The title of the serie comes from the brown paper bag in which the lunch is served.
Diploma lunches
For the Bachelor's lunch we invite the students who are writing their Bachelor theses at the end of spring term. This is to mark the degree that the thesis can lead to.
The Master's lunch is also held at the end of the spring term for the students that are about to finish their degree. They will then leave the Department after two years of studies.
Study trips
We can also organize study trips. The coming spring we will go to the Bionergy exhibition at ELMIA: World Bioenergy.
