The Department of Economics carries out research in Agribusiness and Management, Agricultural and Food Economics, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and Agrarian History. In our research we deal with in a wide range of topics that mainly connected to the agrarian sector and the conservation and use of natural resources. We also carry out research in Applied Statistics and Mathematics for applications mainly within Biology.
Our aim is to present high quality research in national as well as in international comparisons. Our vision is that our research should have a high inter-disciplinary scientific standard. This is achieved by publications in (top-ranked) peer-reviewed journals and books. Our aim is also to produce research that is policy relevant and communicated to different stakeholders.
Traditionally the research has been divided into Business Administration and Economices. Now, we have divided the research into six main areas, which better reflects how we work.
