Welcome to the Department of Food Science

The department is responsible for Food Science study programmes at bachelor’s as well as master’s level. Our research is focused on the composition and properties of common food stuffs, and how these are affected by various factors along the food chain, i.e. from raw food material to product. The national web based platform LivsmedelsSverige, with newest information related to food is also organised at the department.

The reseach at the department of  Food Science are divided into two units; The Animal Food Science unit and the Food Chemistry and Plant Food Science. Within these  two  areas there are four units.
