I am a plant pathologist and my main interest within this field is the biology of the late blight pathogen, Phytophthora infestans. My research is currently focused on the population biology of this pathogen, inoculum sources and interaction with the host plant.
Potato late blight is one of the most devastating plant diseases worldwide. The control of the disease has traditionally relied on foliar application of fungicides, resulting in a very high input of pesticides in the potato production. Research on late blight is not only of scientific interest, but is important both from an economical as well as an environmental perspective.

Thesis
I defended my thesis The late blight pathogen, Phytophthora infestans. Interaction with the potato plant and inoculum sources in February 2010. (Doctoral Thesis No. 2010:2, Acta Universitatis Agriculturae Suecia). A summary of my thesis can be downloaded as a pdf-file from the SLU library here.
