I work as a PhD-student with the project “Variation and survival of Phytophthora infestans” together with Jonathan Yuen, Björn Andersson, Nils Högberg och Anna-Karin Widmark. Phytophthora infestans is a pathogen that causes late blight on potatoes. Potato late blight is one of the most devastating plant diseases worldwide. In Sweden, late blight is mainly a problem in organic farming since you cannot use any fungicides.
My main interest is the population biology of P.infestans and how it varies on different hosts but also the dispersal and survival of the pathogen.
