Microbial communities in tropical crop systems
–studies of rice and rambutan in the Mekong delta

The challenges of maintaining high yields with sustainable agricultural practices are met by working actively with the microbial community. Here crop rotation is studied from a microbial point of view. Functional diversity is studied with respect to decomposition and plant pathogen interactions in a laboratory experiment. The effect of Trichoderma as a biocontrol agent on the community composition is studied under field conditions.
