Sudhagar Balasundaram from Oslo will be staying with us for about three weeks to work on comparative genomics within the Serpulaceae.

Sowmya Pulé is now doing her master-thesis in our department, together with Mukesh, Dan and Magnus. She will work here until the summer. Her project is entitled: Functional studies of aegerolysins in the fungal biocontrol agent Clonostachys rosea. She will study phenotypic effects of a deletion of an aegerolysin gene in Clonostachys rosea, with emphasis on its role in fungal-fungal interactions and biocontrol.

Sophie Rommel is doing her master-thesis in our department, together with Malin Elfstrand. She will work here until mid-April. Her project is entitled: The role of heterotrimeric G-proteins in Norway spruce defence responses. She studies the evolution and regulation of heterotrimeric G-proteins in Norway spruce.

Shirin Akhter joined us to do her Master’s thesis work on Interactions between plant beneficial bacteria and plant pathogens (specifically of field beans). Sadhna Alström and Björn Andersson are her supervisor.

Diana Marciulyniene, a PhD student from Lithuania, will be working in our lab for the next 3 months on various ash dieback projects together with Michelle Cleary, Rimvys Vasaitis and Jan Stenlid.

Mitra Mirzaei will help Nils Högberg with Serpula work in the lab. She started in December.
