Plant Pathology
This course gives the student a thorough foundation in the principles of plant pathology.
A key component is a study of the biological processes that lead to disease in plants. Students learn about the interactions of plants and pathogens on a variety of integration levels (from the subcellular to populations). The course equips the student with the basic tools for studying plant diseases. This is an advanced course for career-oriented students with a special interest in plant diseases and plant protection, as well as for those pursuing advanced degrees in plant pathology.

Prerequisites: The equivalent of 180 HEC including 90 HEC in Biology. English skills equivalent to English B from upper secondary school. As an alternative to the above: Equivalent to 120 HEC including 60 HEC in Biology of which at least 5 HEC each of plant physiology, microbiology, and floristic and faunistic are part of the 60 HEC. English skills equivalent to English B from upper secondary school.
This course is compulsory for SLU students who choose the specialization in Plant pathology (NorPath) within the Masters programme in Plant biology.
NorPath is a cooperation in Plant pathology education at the advanced level between four Nordic universities.
