Department of Soil and Environment

Welcome to the department of Soil and Environment

Our soil is virtually and literally the base for our civilisation. We study how the soil system works alone and how it interacts with different forms of land use. We build up and communicate knowledge and understanding about these topics.

With environmental monitoring and assessment and in long-term field experiements status and changes in the soils are followed up.

Education

The department of Soil and Environment offers courses in Soil science, Environmental Science and Biology.

A PhD program is four years (240 hp) of which the major part (195 hp) consists of individual research and writing of a PhD thesis. To be eligible for a PhD training in Soil Science an MSc (or a magister) in Soil Science is required.
