The Department of Soil and Environment conducts observations in several of these programs, see below. The studies funded primarily by the Environmental protection agency.

Program areas

Agricultural landscape

  • The soil compaction program examines the soil physical properties in the agricultural field
  • Land and crop inventory examines agricultural soil and crop condition

Forest

Eutrophication

  • Investigation of nutrient flows into water from small agricultural dominated catchments (type areas on agricultural land) and from agricultural fields (Field Observation)
  • Model calculations of fluxes of nitrogen and phosphorus from land to water for nationalestimates (SLU VattenNAV)

Non-Toxic Environment

  • Study of pesticides in water, sediment, precipitation and air in agricultural areas (Plant protection in agricultural areas)
