Postgraduate Education in Rural Development

Rural development is an interdisciplinary subject which focuses on the particular preconditions and problems in rural areas. The subject includes analysis and descriptions of processes of change in rural areas, as well as methods and activities aiming at local and regional development.

The Ph.D courses in theory and method are developed after consultation with the doctoral students at the department. The courses in scientific writing and in case studies have been carried out at many occations and can be given when there is an interest in such education.

We work interdisciplinary and cooperate with other departments within the University and also outside SLU.
