Our applied research is concerned with issues that influence business development and sustainability in the forestry and forest product industries, which are significant for the Swedish economy.
Decision making in economics, strategy, marketing and organisation is of fundamental importance in our research. We therefore collect information, devise models and scenarios, and assess potential consequences – in close cooperation with industry representatives.
Industry also actively supports our educational work. Here we use our research to ensure our education is contemporary and relevant. Therefore our graduates from the Masters Programme Management of the Forest Products Industries are sought after by industry. Today, many former graduates hold senior positions.
There are more than 10 researchers/educationalists focusing on this area, of which two are Ph.D. students. There are five more Ph.D. students in industry placements.
