European Timber Measurement Meeting

SDC and the Swedish timber measurement associations (Ass Prof Lars Björklund) in cooperation with UNECE/FAO Forestry and Timber Section in Geneva (Mr Matthew Fonseca) and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Prof Mats Nylinder) have together organised, for the first time, a European Timber Measurement Meeting. The meeting was a combined excursion and conference with the aim to discuss relevant and interesting topics within the field of timber measurement in Europe. Participants from Finland, Norway, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Austria, Germany, Spain, USA and Sweden joined the meeting, totally 27 persons. All countries contributed with presentations of wood measurement in their respective countries. As the trade of roundwood over borders increases and the wood market becomes more international, it is of great value to exchange knowledge in the field of timber measurement.
