NFI data now available in Gapminder
Data from the National Forest Inventory is now available in Hans Rosling’s award winning Gapminder program. Users can now examine forest variables for the whole world based on data from the UNs FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation). The Swedish data has been delivered by the Swedish National Forest Inventory.
Gapminder is a free program which aims to “unveil the beauty of statistical time series by converting boring numbers into enjoyable, animated and interactive graphics”. The forest variables available include Forest land (ha), Primary forest land (ha), Wood removal (m³), Biomass (ton) and ownership (%).
Gapminder is available as both a web-based and downloadable application.
