The amount of dead wood in Sweden's forests has increased by more than 25% since the 1990's and continues to rise. Even the total standing volume continues to increase and has now passed 3100 million cubic meters. This increase is mainly due to increases in the standing volume of pine and broadleaf trees. Annual growth in Sweden's forests continues to be high and is currently at 121 million cubic meters per year.
In the publication SKOGSDATA 2010 the Swedish National Forest Inventory presents the current official statistics plus an themed analysis, this year about Lodgepole pine in Sweden.
