This is FIRST’s second of three study tours. These study trips are meant to give us, the PhD-students, an understanding of forestry and forestry technology outside the Nordic countries. This second trip took us into the world of southern hemisphere tree plantations and was made directly following the fourth Forest Engineering Conference at White River, Mpumalanga; a conference at which all study tour participants made scientific presentations. We also made a travel diary, available for you to read.
