The effect of supply chain interactions on forest operations efficiency

This project aims to investigate the impact of variations in contractor relations on the wood supply chain and ultimately to identify ways to improve the wood supply chain through strategic development of the contractor relations. Studies finished within the project include the development of productivity functions for harvesters and forwarders in thinnings and final fellings respectively based on a large follow-up dataset and a study of the impact of the customer perceived value of harvesting contractors' services on contractor profitability.
